When we started the uMarketingSuite back in 2019 we wanted to have Privacy & Security in the foundation of our software. The world became more privacy aware, and since GDPR in 2018, we believe that privacy of the visitor of your website should be your main concern.
So from the beginning we’ve added several features to the marketing suite for Umbraco, but always with the concept of ‘privacy by design’. Of course we can say that, but we wanted to take that a step further and let an official third party audit our software. And that’s exactly what we did!
We’ve reached out to Privacy Verified, one of the leading privacy organizations in Europe. As part of ICTRecht they have been offering various privacy services for more than 15 years, to support organizations with privacy issues and processes. We’ve asked them to verify our software and we can now officially announce that we are privacy verified!
Company and personal data are processed within the legal framework, without losing sight of commerce and efficiency
The certificate highlights the main features of the uMarketingSuite in regards to privacy:
- uMarketingSolutions uses specific retention periods and personal data is not kept longer than necessary.
- uMarketingSolutions has set up its software according to the principles of privacy by design and by default.
- uMarketingSolutions correctly informs customers, by means of a white paper, of the obligation to inform about the use of uMarketingSuite.
- uMarketingSolutions informs its customers correctly, by means of a white paper, that permission is required for placing and reading the cookie from uMarketingSuite.
The auditors furthermore stated “uMarketingSolutions sets a great example and proves that marketing/analytics and privacy do go hand in hand.”
